"My purse was taken away Wednesday night April 23/08 at Babaluu, at around 11pm. Its a big yellow purse with printed birds. In there I had my Mp3 player, a pair of shoes, my wallet with all my IDs and most importantly to me my camera. I had pictures from Montreal that are very important to me in there. There was no money or credit cards in my wallet. If anyone has any information on what could have happened PLEASE contact me. If you have taken my purse PLEASE have some compassion and give it back. There is nothing in there you could possibly use. If you want the camera, take it. But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give my memory card back and my wallet. I have a picture of my family in there. No questions asked.

Sun. 3 Feb. Lula Lounge turned up on CBC's Big City Small World Saturday with Roberto Linares Brown previewing a bit of hew new CD Que No Se Pierda La Escencia and Salsa Africa. With Donne Roberts on guitar and Yeti Ajesin on congas, Roberto Linares Brown gave them a preview of their Friday 8 Feb. Salsa Africa Concert. Their very danceable song "Wenge Yongo" takes Yoruba roots from Nigeria - where many slaves came from - and brought it into salsa. Jose Ortega described the creative process that brought this all to life. Not to be missed.

Registration deadline is 31 March. There is only one class for this competition, Open. So On1, On2, Cabaret all compete in the same class. One Canadian appears to have made it into the team finals Team Australia's Joséanne - ex San Tropez student. New this year at the Congress - no video or still photography during the Thursday competition and all of the shows - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Do not risk your night of fun - please keep your camera in your pocket or bag during the shows and the competition. Go crazy before and after with the pix, but not during.
Wed. 3 Oct. Those who are not going to the Congress and are staying in town for Thanksgiving, Acrobat is open Friday night. Toronto Salsa Practice is open Saturday afternoon starting @ 3:30pm. Lula has two live salsa bands - one Friday and one Saturday. And if that isn't enought Frank Bishun and Alleycatz is open Monday night.
