The Thrid Floor Dovercourt House was alive with competition buzz with the run-up to the Thurs-Sun. 11-14 March 2010. Toronto Salsa Festival - TSF.
The fun began, not with the preliminary round to the competiton, but with a Birthday Dance for Dori and Kevin who were unceremoniously tossed to the wolves in the Birthday dance circle and they survived. The payoff being a Chocolate and a Vanilla birthday cake.
Then it was down to business with the first Preliminary round of the Toronto Salsa Festival Competition.
Competitors from two of the four categories - Amateur, Professional, Solo, Pro-Am - tested the waters.
Solo competitors included: Java; Patience; Albert J. Gomez; Jerarmyn. Pro-Am competitors, where one partner is a professional and the other partner is an amateur included Danilo & Kathy; Albert J. Gomez & Pina.
Three judges evaluated and scored the performances. They included: iFreeStyle's Caryl, Latin Energy's Vanesa; and United Salseros' Teddy. Moreno Travel's Denis Hernandez is a major sponsor for the Competition with trips to Las Vegas and possibly Cuba or another warm place.
