The Social is back in Salsa! Water from the tap. Plates of chips and cookies. A kettle of hot water for tea. Old style music with a few Cha Cha Cha's and Merengues thrown in. Coats dropped on chairs or on a few hangers. And lots of music.. lots of it.
From an old Meet-up group that lost its organizer, Errol picked up the pieces and had a social. It may have been in a condo party room. A few came out. Then it was a dance studio and a few more came out. In October 2009, it was a capacity crowd, a lesson and a show.
The chilly January night was forgotten as people came out to socialize. Errol had a farewell dance for Yen, who will be traveling across the planet to Singapore.
And then it was birthdays. All of the January birthday people were rounded up, tossed in the circle for a B-day dance. Something about January that brings them out. It must be something about May that blossoms all of these January flowers.
Tyrone aka Mista T-Dot played a mix of Salsa, Bachata, and Cha Cha that kept them moving all evening!
Facebookers can find out about Errol's next social through his events. Those not using social sites can drop by SalsaTO.ca's events page. Those looking for a no frills friendly place that goes back to a true salsa social cannot do wrong with Errol.
