Thursday Competition & Show Gala

All under one roof! The 7th Canada Salsa Congress opened Thursday evening in the downtown Toronto's Sheraton Centre's Dominion Ballroom.

A stage, installed wood floor and a corridor for socializing and getting away from the sound was the elegant venue greeting those going to the pre-party and competition.

Another first for 2009 was an Amateur Class Salsa Competition, encouraging all salsa dancers to put something together and compete, with the prize being a performance during the Congress.

DJ Vanessa Trujillo, DJ Julio and NYCs DJ William Knowles kept the performers, competitors and the people moving all night long. The old MasMambo troupe, Dance to Live, Steps, Latin Energy, Victor & Katia's Comomango's Students, and City Dance Corps student groups entertaine the crowd While the judges were tabulating the scores.

Editor's Note:
The stage lighting literally washed the stage in a pepto bismo blend of yellow, red and blue. The extra video lights did not burn it away. These are the best possible results - in color.
