Literally diving into the crowd, the classically trained De La Fe went from the stage and went through the entire venue, weaving his magic with the violin. And that was just the opening song. The energy continued through the entire evening! Each set was almost one long song with Lula's 'Fania All Star Band' - all Toronto based musicians - providing the perfect backdrop.
Ana Machado had the almost capacity crowd moving to a lesson that would work all night. DJ FAB spun the tunes, DJ Gury Gury dropped by from Guelph. Alberto Alberto joined Alfredo De La Fe on the stage during the second set as well as another violinist.
Born to the violin, and having already played with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Alfredo De La Fe was playing with salsa bands by the age of 12. Alfredo De La Fe also played with Tito Puente, Tipica 73, the Palmieri Brothers and the legendary Celia Cruz. He even spend some time as a telenovela actor. Living in Colombia for 14 year, De la Fa eventually settled in New York.
